The artwork created through code represents a virtual space that doesn't exist physically. However, these digitally crafted pieces, made possible by computer technology and digital media, are more versatile and diverse in a virtual space without physical constraints.
Generally, creations in virtual worlds exist separately from the real world, with clear boundaries between the two. Although advancements in technology are blurring these boundaries, the process can be confusing. Virtual spaces offer experiences that are impossible in reality, incorporating various visual, auditory, and interactive elements that cannot be experienced in the physical world. However, these experiences cannot fully replace the sense of presence in the real world. Real-world experiences are essential in our lives, providing a range of physical sensations that contribute to our humanity. Therefore, it is important to embrace virtual experiences and real-world experiences in a mutually complementary manner.
We demonstrate the process of breaking down this boundary through digitally created artwork (digital drawings) and physically drawn artwork (physical drawings) using robots. This process requires ample time and can be perplexing. Ultimately, digital drawings and physical drawings merge into one entity.
코드로 그린 그림은 본래 가상의 공간에서 생성된 예술 작품이다. 이는 물리적으로 존재하지 않는다. 하지만, 컴퓨터 기술과 디지털 매체를 통해 창작된 이 작품은 물리적인 제약이 없는 가상의 공간에서 더 자유롭고 또 다채롭다(versatile).
일반적으로, 가상세계에서 만들어진 것은 실재 세계와는 분리되어 존재하며, 그 둘 사이에는 분명한 경계가 존재한다. 현재의 기술 발전으로 그 경계는 점점 모호해지고 있으나, 그 과정은 혼란스럽다. 가상의 공간은 현실 세계에서 불가능한 경험들을 제공한다. 이는 현실에서 경험할 수 없는 다양한 시각적, 청각적, 그리고 상호작용적 요소를 포함한다. 하지만 이 경험들이 현실 세계에서의 경험과 실재감(presence)을 대체할 수는 없다. 현실 세계에서의 경험은 우리가 살아가는 세상에서 필수적인 경험이며, 다양한 물리적 감각을 경험하면서 인간다움을 갖추게 한다. 따라서 가상세계에서의 경험과 현실 세계에서의 경험을 상호 보완적으로 받아들이는 것이 중요하다.
우리는 이러한 하나의 경계를 허무는 과정을 코드로 그린 그림(디지털 그림)과 로봇으로 그린 그림(물리적인 그림)을 통해 보인다. 그 과정은 충분한 시간이 필요하고 또 혼란스럽다. 결과적으로 디지털 그림과 물리적인 그림은 하나가 된다.
